  • What is Reiki?

    Reiki is a loving, divine energy which goes to where the body needs to heal. ‘Rei’ is a Japanese word meaning spiritual wisdom and ‘ki’ means life force energy. With Reiki, The practitioner uses their hands either off or gently on the body to sense and work on any energy imbalance. The practitioner is only a conduit for the energy to flow in order to kick-start your body’s own ability to heal.

  • Are there any side effects?

    Most people just feel relaxed, calm or peaceful, and some fall asleep during the session. Energy work can release built-up chemical and emotional toxins that can get stored in the body. As these toxins are released they may cause slight headaches or you may feel a little emotional. Drinking lots of water will help with this cleansing process. However, there will be an opportunity to discuss these further after your treatment.

  • What should I do to prepare?

    The only thing you need to do is to ideally wear comfy, loose clothing so you can be completely relaxed.

  • Is Reiki a religion?

    Reiki is not a religion, it is completely agnostic. Practitioners of reiki can be from various religions and be actively practising or not practising at all. The founder of the Reiki Healing system was a Japanese Buddhist monk but Reiki itself has been around for thousands of years. Reiki is love, does no harm and there are no contraindications as it only works through the purest form of love.

  • Can children have Reiki?

    Absolutely! Children are very receptive to Reiki and are able to see results quickly. During a session, a parent or guardian is present in the room as well.

  • Can Reiki be used on animals?

    Animals benefit greatly from Reiki. it helps to calm them which supports them during difficult or stressful times. Reiki also helps them to transition more peacefully. Reiki is being offered with some pet insurance plans.
